While we normally view hair loss as a very dramatic, negative thing, it is something that happens to us each and every day. Scientists and medical professionals believe that we lose an average of 100 strands of hair each day. This hair loss is completely natural and isn’t due to any underlying health concern or abnormal issue. But why do we lose hair every day? If we aren’t experiencing any type of health condition or abnormal issue, why is the hair coming out? Well, this hair loss can be explained by a variety of different factors.

It is important to remember that hair grows in a cycle, so hair falling out could simply be a sign that a hair strand has reached the end of its cycle.

Hair can also fall out due to force being applied to it. This force can be applied to the hair in a variety of different ways: brushing our hair, taking a shower, using styling tools, or even putting on a hat or a tight hairband. The pressure applied to our hair can loosen our hair strands and lead them to fall out.

When it Becomes a Problem…

We have more than 100,000 strands of hair on our head, so losing a mere 100 strands a day should not even be noticeable. However, if you start noticing bald patches on your hair, this could be a sign of a severe health issue. You should reach out to your doctor as soon as possible.

In terms of a more immediate fix, you could try scalp micropigmentation services. The treatment applies pigments to your hairline, filling it in and making it seem like your hair loss never occurred in the first place! You can also try other treatments like pills and special shampoos, but these may take longer to provide results.
